Planned Road Closures

Kimball Avenue from Rincon Meadows to Euclid Avenue
Full closure through December 2021 to complete road improvements including the installation of underground utilities, raised mediums and the installation of a large storm drain to help reduce flooding in the area. It will also be widened to four lanes, with two lanes in each direction.


Riverside Drive from Central Avenue to Oaks Avenue

Construction site, reconstruction of intersection and repaving of Riverside Drive, expect delays and closures of side streets through July. 

The Contractor is working on signage, striping, traffic loops, traffic signal modification work, and pedestrian accessibility improvements. There may be intermittent lane closures on Riverside Drive as needed, at least one lane in each direction traffic will be provided at all times. Expect delays through July.


Intersection of Ross and Walnut / Intersection of Magnolia and Walnut
Access from Walnut Ave to Ross Ave northbound direction will be closed between July 12 and July 21, access from Walnut Ave to Magnolia Ave northbound direction will be closed between July 19 and July 28. 

Access from Walnut Ave to Ross Ave southbound direction will be closed between July 29 and August 9, access from Walnut Ave to Magnolia Ave southbound direction will be closed between August 5 and August 16. 

Please observe traffic control signs (road closure, detour signs) for your safety and expect delays.

Bickmore Avenue from Euclid Avenue to Meadowhouse Avenue

Lane reductions mid-April 2021 through Jan 2022 for the KB Homes and Altitude Business Center projects.


Central Avenue from Chino Avenue to Schaefer Avenue

Intermittent closures through July from 8:30am-3:30pm for striping, traffic loops and minor trench repair.


Merrill Avenue from Bon View Avenue to Euclid Avenue
Lane closure on eastbound side of Merrill Avenue begins the first week of August through October 2021 as part of the City’ Brine Line Project (will remain open in both directions but with a flagging operation).

SBCTA Central Avenue Interchange Project

Street sign of Central AvenueIn an effort to improve traffic flow along Central Avenue and SR 60 access for the local community, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) and the City of Chino, in cooperation with the Caltrans District 8, will widen the Central Avenue interchange at the SR 60 bridge to accommodate three through-lanes and double left-turn lanes in both the northbound and southbound directions and will widen the existing eastbound and westbound on-ramps to SR 60 from one lane to two through lanes and a carpool lane.

Closures through July 10

The two inside lanes of the westbound and eastbound SR 60 will be closed at Central Avenue between the on- and off-ramps from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 6 through the morning of Saturday, July 10. Through travel will remain at all times.

Motorists should plan ahead, leave early, and allow extra time to reach their destination.

EB SR-60: nighttime alternating lane closures with two lanes available for traffic from S. Reservoir Street to Ramona Avenue from 10:00pm to 6:00am.

WB SR-60: nighttime alternating lane closures with two lanes available for traffic from Ramona Avenue to S. Reservoir Street from 10:00pm to 6:00am.

WB RAMP CLOSURE: WB Ramona Avenue on-ramp from 10:00pm to 6:00am.
