Garden Workshops
Through Healthy Chino, the City is proud to offer a variety of gardening workshops throughout the year.  Workshops are presented in partnership with Green Chino, Chino Basin Water Conservation District, and the University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program.  All workshops are held at the Chino Community Garden, 5976 Riverside Drive.   For more information, call (909) 334-3478.

Children's Discovery Workshops
At the Children's Discovery Workshops, participants learn about nutrition, physical activity, science, reading, and other subjects through fun and interactive garden-themed activities and crafts.  Workshops are presented in partnership with the City of Chino and Master Gardeners of San Bernardino County.  Themes vary monthly and pre-registration is required.  For more information, call 909-334-3478.

Teen Garden Workshops
Teens will learn about DIY gardening, art, science, and other subjects through fun and interactive garden-themed projects and hands-on demonstrations. Themes vary monthly. Free workshops are presented by City of Chino staff. For more information, call 909.334.3478.

Story Time in the Garden
Storytime in the Garden
Children will discover the wonderful world of gardening and nature through stories.  Participants will also have an opportunity to express their creativity through crafts and activities.  This is a free activity at the Chino Community Garden, 5976 Riverside Drive, every Wednesday in June and July.

Healthy Grilling Workshops

Healthy Chino Coordinator grillingLearn to prepare healthy meals and enjoy delicious creations during these hands-on cooking workshops.  Participants will also learn smart grilling techniques.

Nutrition and Cooking Classes

Parents and adults are invited to learn how to be physically active, plan healthier meals, try new recipes, and stretch the food budget.  This FREE class is made possible through the continued collaboration with the University of California Cooperative Extension, Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program.  For more information, or for a schedule of classes, please contact the Neighborhood Activity Center at (909) 334-3260.

Young Chefs

Young Chefs is a four-to-six-week program where children explore the world of cooking and make healthy snacks and desserts.  The program consists of three components: hands-on cooking, learning a new recipe, and an educational lesson.  Children will make a recipe book to share with family and friends.  Workshops are led by City staff.  For more information, call (909) 334-3260 or (909) 334-3261.
